Hiroshi Sugimoto is a man of many talents and musings. In 2008 he performed a study on the nature of electricity. Using a 400,000-volt Van De Graaff generator, he applied electrical charge directly onto film. Entitled “Lightning Fields”, the work is awe-inspiring.
