Scathing Collages by Ben Reyer.

September 12, 2013 by capture-monger

A master of the collage crafting, Ben Reyer has a streak of Dadaism in his creations.  Seemingly quite down on the current run of things, Reyer pokes fun at the ridiculousness of our culture.  Find your way over to Ben Reyer’s site for more of his precision juxtaposing, but be warned that a good deal of it is in the explicit territory. MEDLEY OF MADNESS.

Sobering Accounts of Tar-sands Transgressions by Ian Willms.

September 12, 2013 by capture-monger

Freelance Photographer Ian Willms spent the better part of 2 years embedded in the lives of First Nation Natives of the Fort Chipewyan area in Canada.  Over the past decade, the lands surrounding Fort Chipewyan (once a Boreal forest) have been under assault from energy companies refining tar-sands.  Willms decided to go and develop relations with the First Nation peoples, and present a perspective that is rarely given any attention due to its unsavory and evil nature.  Willms in-depth investigation […]

Celestial Geometry Animation by Kim Taylor.

September 11, 2013 by capture-monger

Kim Taylor has got what some call: the skeeellz.  “Jimma-nee krizzmizz” one (likely a country-type) might say when viewing the video below.  Using the latest in greatest in animation, Taylor’s short on ‘Celestial Geometry’ is clean and beautiful.  Find more of her graphic work by clicking on her name above, or visit Kim’s Vimeo page for more videos. Psychedelic Jellyfish Macro-Photos by Aaron Ansarov

September 11, 2013 by capture-monger

Having the wild idea to macro-photograph dangerous Portuguese Man o’ War jellyfish, Aaron Ansarov has produced some incredible images that are sure to throw you for a loop.  Mirroring the macro-shots to create symmetry and compound the fractal forms, Ansarov’s ‘Zooid’ series is quasi-psychedelic. LICK SOME TOADS, LOOK AT SOME PORTUGUESE MAN o’ WAR TENTACLES
