Geometric Detonations by Francesco Locastro.

January 19, 2013 by capture-monger

Like witnessing a Geometric Explosion, watching Francesco Locastro‘s most recent video of his shape combinations is beguiling (although the music is a bit dull – you might want to supplement with your own soundtrack).   If you dig the video below, be sure to check out the other posting centered on Locastro from a few weeks back. KA-BOOOM!!

4 minutes of Natural Landscape Time Lapse Insanity.

January 19, 2013 by capture-monger

The scenes and phenomena captured in this video is quite unreal.  Using High Dynamic Range (HDR) bracketing, top of the line Digital SLR’s are able to combine exposures to blend details from the highlights, as well as record faint light such as star clusters.  If you aren’t blown away by this, I will refund your 4 Minutes of life that you take to watch it. MARVELOUS MONTAGE.

Kur-ay-zee Macabre Style & Art of Kraken.

January 17, 2013 by capture-monger

After reading the following quote on the process and influences of Mexican based artist Kraken, it is hard to not be intrigued: “I am inspired by different things when I work: comic books, movies, but mostly emotions. I get a lot of inspiration from reading psychological case studies of serial killers,” Razor sharp lines and piercing subject matter fill Kraken’s macabre compositions.  Pretty rad work indeed. Mathematical & Spacey Art by Tatiana Plakhova

January 17, 2013 by capture-monger

Having worked for Proctor & Gamble through to Playboy, Tatiana Plakhova is now creating for her own satisfaction and gain in Moscow, Muthalahnd.  Finding inspiration in the patterns of natural phenomena and breaking it down into fractals and mathematical points,  Plakhova says that her art is “a game” to her.  Mystifying work Tatiana! GEO-MEH-TRICK!

Evolution of Art Through the Blending of Mediums.

January 16, 2013 by capture-monger

The work of Matthew Cox is an excellent example of how art evolves through the blending of totally offbeat combinations of materials.  Somehow hatching the idea to embroider x-rays to create thought provoking pieces, Cox has truly broken through into uncharted artistic territory. FREAKY FUSION

Deviant & Distinct Art by David M Cook.

January 16, 2013 by capture-monger

David M. Cook (currently creating outta Bruhcklahn, NuYawk) is a Tattooist/Artist whose lines are crisper than starched linen forgotten in the oven.  Sketching outlandish creatures and crazed craniums, the work of Mr.Cook is darkly-enchanting and top-notch.  When I finally get a tattoo, it will be with heavy influence from David Cook and Rik Lee – genuine masters of their trade.  I wonder how long of a wait there is to get a tattoo from the hands of these craftsman. Finding ‘The Edge’ with Hunter S. Thompson.

January 15, 2013 by capture-monger

I am sure I’m in plentiful company when making the statement: “Reading Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas changed my life.”  Thompson’s wild, scathing, and ever-mind-altered perspective shed a new, and harshly blunt, light on the glitzy cancerous nightmare that the American Dream had morphed into.  Truly one in several billion, it is unlikely there will be conditions for another Thompson enigma to emerge again.  Above is a excerpt from an article on the peculiar schedule of Hunter, and below […]
