Above is a mixer and FM transmitter that Kelvin Doe (from Sierra Leone) built from scrap cardboard and discarded ‘broken’ electronics.  Kelvin’s story (stumbled upon via Grist.com ) is made even more inspiring and amazing when taking his age into account – 15.  Broadcasting a guerrilla radio show under the alias of DJ Focus, Kelvin strives to bring communication and debate of issues to his community – a true visionary.  Too radical.  Here’s hoping that this young man (and many others like him) will bring about positive change to Africa’s future.
