Michael Carlebach is an unsung master of documentary / photo-journalistic photography.  Few other people have been able to capture the insanity and quirkiness of the American culture, and on a grander scale, the folly and strangeness of the current stage of evolution humanity finds itself in.

Hands down, Carlebach will go down as one of the photojournalism’s greats and has been a superb chronicler of the peculiarities of American life and the bizarreness of existence in general.  Some brilliant captures in here.
