Capturing Capacity

A Real-Life ‘Where’s Waldo’ of an Eversest base camp via a Gigapixel Photograph.

everest_gigaWith digital sensor technology now boasting 1000 Megapixel capabilities, photographs taken of vast scenes can be explored with incredible detail.  Above is a photo of a upper base camp at Mt.Everest that is taken by a gigapixel camera.  Able to zoom in & pick out individual climbers (the feature thumbnail is of the tent camp at the base of the photo you can barely make out in the fully zoomed out image), and view the incredible texture of the glacial faces, the information density of this photo is just plain nuts.  The below image is of the most zoomed in view of the tip of one of the peaks.
