Capturing Capacity

Bio-mimicry with Human Nests.

In one of the most prime examples bio-mimicry ever, people all over the world have been creating ‘Human Nests’ in increasing numbers.  From New Zealand to South Africa, artists and boutique designers are weaving branches to emulate nooks of the avian kind.  On a very related strand, be sure to check out Patrick Dougherty’s work if you haven’t already- his full blown structures and spaces made from willow are jaw-dropping.  Just for tradition’s sake, there are a few oldschool-ish tree-houses included at the bottom of the selection.

FOR THE BIRDS.
