Superb Murals & Art by Etam Cru

June 25, 2013 by capture-monger

Based out of Poland, Sainer and Bezt are 2 artists that have formed an artistic collective entitled Etam Cru.  With similar stylings to Aryz, Etam Cru’s large scale murals and smaller oil paintings are at a level of expertise matched by few else in the art world.  Below is a collection of their combined work as well as their individual pieces. SMOOTHER THAN KEYSTONE.

Holy Canoli – the world is way crazier than a large chunk of people think.  How bout those floods in Germany?  Climate Change? No way…. DANG

Praiseworthy Watercolor Music Video.

June 13, 2013 by capture-monger

Assuming that this video is at a relatively low 25 frames per minute (fpm), 3,750 individual watercolor paintings would be necessary to complete this two and a half minute short. More likely its right around the 4 grand mark. Wow. SIMPLY IMPRESSIVE.

Sisters Rodeo 2013.

June 12, 2013 by capture-monger

The Rodeo held in Sisters, Oregon (just a half hour west of Bend) is dubbed “The Biggest Little Show on Earth”.  Occurring on the first weekend of June every year, the population of Sisters (normally a town of just over 2,000) easily triples and the roadways become grid-locked with trucks and horse trailers.  On Saturday we ventured up there to have ourselves a little gander, and here is some of what we saw.  (Roarke was the best dressed Ka-boy there!)

Photojournalism Digest #942

June 3, 2013 by capture-monger

Lots of great material emanating from the New York Times LENS Blog this past week.  Starting with the ‘Holy Land  ATM’ shot, is a small collection (also derived from a LENS feature) of Josh Yospyn’s photography.  His work depicts the bizarre lifestyle and cultural quirks of America. GOOD LUCK OUT THERE.

Photographs from Oregon’s Badlands and Painted Hills.

May 30, 2013 by capture-monger

Here are some of my own photographs from the past month of traveling to Oregon’s various spectacular landscapes.  The ‘Badlands’ are only a little over 20 miles east of Bend, and have a lot of incredible Juniper tree skeletons.  The Painted Hills are vibrant clay formations that have taken millennium to emerge and are continuously undergoing phase change.  Hope you like ’em! Photojournalism Round-up #26

May 27, 2013 by capture-monger

Via the New York TImes LENS Blog, here are some stand out shots from the past two weeks (the first week did not yield enough to make a good enough sized posting, hence the slight disruption in regularity). HETEROGENITY

Astounding Video of Life / Universal Ties.

May 23, 2013 by capture-monger

Here is a awe-inspiring and contemplative short video about life and the incredible process it has taken from the explosion of stars who knows how many years ago.  Makes one have a new appreciation for our planet and place on it as cognizant beings. AMALGAMATED STARDUST.

Feat of Visual Programming.

May 20, 2013 by capture-monger

Daniel Sierra‘s Thesis piece for his MFA in Computer Arts @ the School of Visual Arts (NY) is so dazzling and impressive in terms of coding, that it really is hard to fathom for common folk (such as myself).  Obliterating and incinerating computer genrated sine waves in synch with an audio creation from Senyor Sierra himself, the video is well worth a gander – make sure to go full-screen on this one. (via Juxtapoz) ORDER & CHAOS.   BONUS: Below […]
