Abstract Beauties by Micahel Cina.

December 22, 2012 by capture-monger

Michael Cina is a talented man with a very wise outlook on the art & graphic design process / culture.  As a graphic designer whose client list contains some of the bigger names in the global scene, Cina finds contrast and variety in designing fonts and creates some fascinating abstract paintings.  Bearing similarities to paper marbling, there is a beautiful looseness and spontaneity to this body of work. Top-Notch Star Trail Long Exposure Photography.

December 20, 2012 by capture-monger

Anybody that has a camera with a ‘bulb’ setting can take your typical amateur star-trail long exposure photographs, but Lincoln Harris has perfected the art.  Stunning shots with unreal color action, Lincoln’s work is simply top-notch. INCREH-EEBLEH

Remarkable Slow-Mo Scenes by Ori Gersht.

December 20, 2012 by capture-monger

Big thanks to my Aunt Mary Lynne for passing along the work of Ori Gersht.  Very much in line with the work of Alan Sailer, Gersht has employed the use of high-speed photography and video to capture moments and series of events that are beyond normal human perception. Gersht takes a more conceptual approach with his work, remixing 17th and 18th century still life paintings and creating a “dichotomy between Violence and Beauty”.  Appropriating and imitating famous still-life subject matter, […]

Beautiful Disaster: Capturing the Atomic Bomb on Film.

December 20, 2012 by capture-monger

It is an unfamiliar and unsavory fact that the U.S.A detonated hundreds of nuclear bombs back in the 1940’s through the early 60’s, especially unsavory when considering that we did not know what long-term effects it would have on the atmosphere or life in general.  Being a highly controversial testing series, it is somewhat profane to say that something as destructive and downright evil as the Atom Bomb could be beautiful.  These images recorded by the U.S. government (by very […]

Incredible Freestyle Soccer (Football) Control

December 20, 2012 by capture-monger

With skills that seem to be a product of a Soul trade with Satan, Iya Traore makes his living performing freestyle soccer ball juggling feats in the Montmartre area of Paris. Bordering on impossible, Traore’s routine is flawless and varied.  If you find yourself becoming dis-interested early on (you have a problem… jk) fast forward to 3:45 to see the craziest part.  Credit to Loren Polster on sharing this video- thanks buddeh!! WHAT?!! OUTRAGEOUS Combo of Capacities.

December 20, 2012 by capture-monger

Awwwwww yezzz – gu-deh, guu-deh.  Velcum to the 2nd edition of the ‘Warning’ series.  If you have found yerself here by accident, or are curious to as if you can handle the content of these ‘racier’ postings, you may want to revert to the inaugural posting and test yir forty-tood.  Again, these really aren’t THAT gnarly, this is just a precautionary measure to make certain that those who are a bit more wholesome in character don’t taint their puritan record.  […]
