Cement Factory Refurbished into a House.

January 17, 2014 by capture-monger

Ricardo Bofill & his architecture firm (Taller de Arquitectura) have reclaimed an old cement factory near Barcelona and turned it into their headquarters.  Serving as one of the grandest examples of re-appropriation, the renovation of the turn of the 20th century industrial complex is astounding. Check out the gallery and video below for a bit of a walk through.

Circuit Board Paintings by Leo Eguiarte.

January 12, 2014 by capture-monger

An Un-Happy Birthday to you, Kim Jong Un!!

January 8, 2014 by capture-monger

Shakespeare’s invention of the prefix Un- has been put to use in some pretty splendid ways (unreal, unperturbedly, but its place in the North Korean leader’s name seems appropriate.  Rumored to have fed his dissenting uncle to 120 starved dogs, Kim Jong Un is quite an uncompassionate and undeserving and unqualified leader.  Turning 31 today, Kim Jong Un is certainly swiggin’ some Hennessy with Dennis Rodman and gettin silly.  Here’s hoping you have an unsavory and ungainly year Mr.Un!   Enjoy […]

Renaissance Nike Adverts.

January 6, 2014 by capture-monger

It’s a little known fact that Nike first started their ad campaign all the way back in the 1400’s.  Nike was actually one of the top patrons / sponsors for top notch painters such as Michalengelo and Raphael and Shredder and even outfitted Napoleon’s army with footwear.  Here are some of the ads run back then:
