Using what many would consider to be ‘green-waste’ or tree clippings, twigs, sticks and reeds (mostly of willow) are the medium for Dougherty’s jaw-dropping sculptures and structures. Whilst staying with my Genius (but you know what the say about the line between genius and insanity ;D) cousin Matty J in the Borderlands Motel of EPA, I was overcome with excitement to find an installation by Patrick Dougherty a mere 5 blocks from Matt’s apartment. I was able to snap a few pictures of the installation one afternoon and are the first 4 shots in the gallery below. Also, be sure to check out the time lapse of one of his creations at the bottom.

Truly wonderful willow work – I have seen some spectacular examples before, especially at Kew Gardens in London, but this is really great.
