Jen Ray: Master of Concept & Details.

October 9, 2013 by capture-monger

Jen Ray has a very mystical and beautifully sharp illustration style.  Deftly combining abstract washes with ink and paint crispness, Jen Ray’s worlds and visions are of the highest quality.  Be sure to check out her website to see other performance art, installations and general wild shit she gets up to.

Banksy’s Brilliance Still Shining Brightly.

October 9, 2013 by capture-monger

Banksy has logged himself in the history books for many a good reason, and he some how keeps pumping out original and clever works.  Expanding on his unrivaled resume, Banksy has undertaken “An artists Residency on the Streets of NYC.” for the month of October.  Vowing to create a new piece of art every single day for the entire month of Oct., Banksy is curating a free citywide art show complete with audio that passers-by can call an toll-free # […]

The Unearthly Works of Boo Saville

October 9, 2013 by capture-monger

Macabre and experimental are two qualities that run consistently through the fabrications of Boo Saville.  Adept at etching plates as well as utilizing bleach, ink, paints, & photographs, Boo has a versatility that is a bit of a rarity in the current day art world.  Plus she’s got a bad-ass first name. BOO!

Unbelievable Vertical Gardens.

October 9, 2013 by capture-monger

Originally being tipped off by Juxtapoz about the grand vertical garden on the side of a building in Paris (see the website of the project HERE ), I did some further investigation into other vertical gardens and have created a little inspiration gallery below.  Including images of boutique spots, the Bilbao Guggenheim flowering dog, and hyper-space-efficient vegetable cultivation, upright fauna is sure to grab your fancy some how. PLUMB POSSIBILITIES!!

Modern Material Wizardry by Hedi Xandt.

September 28, 2013 by capture-monger

Utilizing the precision of modern day technology of 3-d printers and CNC type of equipment, Hedi Xandt is blending materials and visions in ways previously inconceivable.  Deconstructing and literally tearing classical renaissance-style busts, Xandt is crafting unique and brilliant pieces with materials such as gold and bronze that are the height of intrigue.  Be sure to check out Xandt’s tumblr, and try and get to see some of the work in person if at all possible. Thanks to Yimmy’s Yayo […]

Quail Springs Living!

September 24, 2013 by capture-monger

Greetings all!  Apologies for such a gap in postings – I have been attending a Natural Building Practicum at Quail Springs; a quasi-experiment on sustainable human lifestyles/practices.  Located in the high desert of southern California ( in between Ojai & Bakersfield), the community is off the grid, and resources are limited and internet bandwidth is no exception, so I haven’t been able to upload files to this site due to restricted data usage. Recently I’ve learned that in between the […]
