Bio-mimicry with Human Nests.

August 5, 2013 by capture-monger

In one of the most prime examples bio-mimicry ever, people all over the world have been creating ‘Human Nests’ in increasing numbers.  From New Zealand to South Africa, artists and boutique designers are weaving branches to emulate nooks of the avian kind.  On a very related strand, be sure to check out Patrick Dougherty’s work if you haven’t already- his full blown structures and spaces made from willow are jaw-dropping.  Just for tradition’s sake, there are a few oldschool-ish tree-houses […]

Photojournalism JEMS from LENS

August 4, 2013 by capture-monger

New York Times LENS Photojournalism site doesn’t upload new material on the weekend, so here is your fix for some of the crem de la crem from the past month of imagery.  BTW, North Korea is Krrraaayzeeee, almost as crazy as the running of the bulls – but not as ridiculous as the huge media frenzy around the birth of that new royal babe.  Where’s Putin going (Tom Waits: “What’s He Doing In There?!)? HAPPY AUGUST.

Funny GIFS!

July 30, 2013 by capture-monger

Have been collecting humorous animated gifs for the past few months and thought a GIF specific posting was in order.  The beauty of Gifs is their simply and repetitious nature and the which help the (sometimes) slow realization of what the hell is going on. Hope these bits of joy can help brighten your day!  (Thanks to Follow us or Die for the shoplifting gif, as well as Tooney Tunes for great material over time!) QUE RIDICULO!!
