January 30, 2013 by capture-monger

Much like the embroidered x-rays of Matthew Cox’s (view the post on Matt’s work here ), Muarizio Anzeri combines thread and photographs to fabricate hybrid craftings that are fancy and outrageous. With great precision and skill Maurizio has created a unique nook in the artistic world. TRIPPY THREADS.

Mock Totems for Materialsm by David Welch

January 27, 2013 by capture-monger

Critical, conceptual, and probing are all characteristics of David Welch’s photography.  Stumbling upon his work via Juxtapoz, David’s ‘Material World’ portfolio is very impressive (also included below are a few shots from his trip to Morocco.  Creating mock totems to materials associated with our current lifestyles, Welch asks the question: “What are we praising through our lifestyle choices?”.  Bravo David, bravo.
