SHARP Jake Early Serigraphs.

November 30, 2012 by capture-monger

Jake Early is a California Native who creates silkscreen prints of a wide variety of locales – mostly classic Californian landmarks.  Based in Chico he pumps out some seriously classy material.  Unfortunately the images on his site (and all over the internet) are in small format, but you can purchase prints from his site if you love ’em.  BONUS video of him executing his process found below the gallery! SHARP SCREENS!

Derek Erdman

November 28, 2012 by capture-monger

With Dada-esque style, Derek Erdman is an artist who makes simple and jestful paintings.  He also does some pretty hilarious prank phone calls (hear an example below). Originally stumbled upon Senor Erdman at the blog of Yikes Its Tooney (the genius behind musical act PROduce [listen to track berow]) and spent a good while on Erdman’s site (lotta content).  If you’re interested in purchasing a painting or collaborating with Derek his rates are very reasonable.  If you likes the audio […]

Bicycle Horse SFX

November 27, 2012 by capture-monger

Forget duct-taping baseball cards to your bike (so 1990’s)- this new contraption developed by Original Content London is just plain high-class.  For only $20, you can order Trotify’s coconut clapper and become the new novelty superstar when you rip through town on your horse bike.  Some assembly is required, as the mechanism comes as a CNC’ed sheet seen below. GET TROTTIN’!

Inspiring Youth From Sierra Leone.

November 27, 2012 by capture-monger

Above is a mixer and FM transmitter that Kelvin Doe (from Sierra Leone) built from scrap cardboard and discarded ‘broken’ electronics.  Kelvin’s story (stumbled upon via Grist.com ) is made even more inspiring and amazing when taking his age into account – 15.  Broadcasting a guerrilla radio show under the alias of DJ Focus, Kelvin strives to bring communication and debate of issues to his community – a true visionary.  Too radical.  Here’s hoping that this young man (and many […]
