Fantasy-esque Winter Wonderland @ Intl. Ice & Snow Festival

Porcelian Battle Shatterings by Martin Klimas.

Whilst researching the works of Martin Klimas, the high-speed photographic documentation of the poetic destruction of martial artist porcelain figurines came to light. Using powerful strobes and incredibly fast shutter speeds, Klimas was able to capture near-choreographed poses of battle and shattering with said ceramic figures. Pretty jaw-dropping results. Pieces of Mischief Robert Rickhoff

Creating humorously ludicrous scenes in the public realm, Dutch artist Robert Rickhoff has a very sharp and clever mind. Installing swing sets in traffic, injury-prone slides, and dark-comedy juxtapositions; Rickhoff is a master of translating the highly impractical concepts into thought-provoking dioramas. Side-note: upon inspecting his profile on his blogger account, he also has incredible taste in music. ART OF THE ABSURD.

‘Carbon Sink’ Piece on UofWY Campus by Chris Drury

Exploding F1 Race Car by Paul Veroude

Suspended in time and space, Paul Veroude’s perfectly exploded F1 race car is a testament to the beauty of engineering and manufacturing. Meticulously stringing up all 3,200 individual parts which are the end result of “90,000 man hours of design time, and over 200,000 man hours of manufacturing”; the installation is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Taking into account that this vehicle involved over $50 million of investment over its career, seeing it displayed in its bare components is simply mind-blowing. […]

Ferrari’s New F12 Berlinetta

Very much related to the magnetism posts of late, the new Ferrari F12 Berlinetta is a magnet for ladies, men, and the road alike. With a 0-60 in 3 seconds acceleration, 220 mph top speed, and v12 engine, this car is a bit surreal. A SEHX MO-SHEEN!
