Perspective Challenging Photography of Kiripi Katembo

June 6, 2014 by capture-monger

 Kiripi Katembo is a photographer / videographer from the Democratic Republic Congo (DRC).  His work is a type of surreal and perspective altering documentation of life inside the DRC, all quite sobering.  Using debris-strewn puddles as canvasses and stages for vignettes of every-day life, Katembo waits until elements and characters populate them to create allegorical scenes of chaos and mire.  Below the gallery of his photos you’ll find a collaborative mini-documentary shot on cell-phones that Katembo participated in to give […]

Ear Delights by Nightmares on Wax

June 5, 2014 by capture-monger

George Evelyn (more commonly known as Nightmares on Wax (aka DJ EASE)) has been producing audio treats for a quarter-century now.  Simply put: he is toooo legit, and he certainly ain’t about to quit.  June 17th he’ll be dropping a box set of his favorite selections from the past 25 years (click here to view it on amazon), and it’s sure to please.   From his latest relase back in 2013 here is a super feel good, laid-back jam, entitled “Be, […]

Magnus Gjoen

May 27, 2014 by capture-monger

Magnus Gjoen is a London based artist who… aww just read the excerpt from Gjoen’s website below the gallery – it’s way better than anything I’ll rehash :} Bio excerpt from Magnus’ webpage: Magnus Gjoen’s prints examines how to change peoples relationship and preconceived notions of objects. Something which is potentially extremely destructive can be made into beautiful yet fragile objects of art. It’s this misconception of beauty which Magnus Gjoen wants us to see in a different light, being […]

Andrew Archer’s Abnormal & Alluring Illustrations

May 26, 2014 by capture-monger

Straight outta Auckland (maybe? definitely New Zealand, but Auckland sounded most similar to Compton for a N.W.A reference) Andrew Archer is got some serious talent on the illustrating side of things.  Traveling around the world and currently living in Melbrrrrnn, Ausland – Archer has varied influences and is (obviously) into the surreal.  Be sure to peep his site here, and his tumblr here.    via Juxtapoz After this is just some junky-ass ads. Please ignore them ;}

BONEFACE Continues his Streak of Brilliant Work.

May 23, 2014 by capture-monger

Boneface is styling…..period.  He continues his already highly successful run in 2014 with a few more ultra-detailed, hyper-saturated works that possess a certain outré retro/comic aesthetic.  Boneface’s unrivaled conceptualization & execution appealed to the band Queens of The Stone Age, who contracted Boneface to animate a 15 minute chunk of their new album (‘Like clockwork’).  Boneface obliged and produced a doom-laden and darkly gruesome multi-character mini-odyssey to visually experience 5  tracks of the new album – you can check the […]

Exquisite Architectural & Interior Design Elements

May 14, 2014 by capture-monger

It’s all in the details and evolution of ideas.  Certain features or stylings that make make one pull a head-scratch, and wonder how such an idea and subsequent execution came about.  Granted, some of these elements are a bit on the ludicrous / gaudy end of things (aka the lay down shower? get tha fak outta hee-uh!), but they are original and thought-evoking none the less.  ENJOY! If you dug this post, here are 2 previous posts centered on the […]
