Jack Vanzet is a triple threat artist, musical producer, and artistic director based outta Melbourne who is about to catch on fire (in a good way). Here’s a sampling of his art, and below it you’ll find a musical number he put together along with other goodies: You might notice the Chet Faker concert/tour poster at the end of the collection there – apparently Mr.Vanzet and Chet are chums and hang out and do cool shit together. So for fun, you’ll […]
The story of the Landfill Harmonic Orchestra is one of the most inspiring tales of resourcefulness and transcendence one might ever hear and see. The people of Cateura, Paraguay create beautiful sound out of what most anyone would consider trash.Be sure to check out their website and keep an eye out for screening tours in the near future.
The stream of stimuli that has flooded our lives due to the internet is dumbfounding; especially when you hold the modern flow in comparison with that of only 20 years ago. Debatably there are many positives and negatives, but it certainly can help to inspire. Here are some miscellaneous images pulled from the unending search for thought provoking visuals and fascinating artifacts of human culture. If you’re digging on these images / theme of Miscellanea, you just might want to […]

If you for some reason you ain’t familiar with the magaizine Adbusters, allow me to introduce you to one of the most avant-garde and radical publications of the modern era. Thanks to my good friend (Loren Polster) who gifted me a subscription to the commendable bi-monthly, I now have an even larger disdain for capitalism than before ;}. Here is a link to preview issues of past ADBUSTERS. Even if you can’t agree with all the critical views presented in […]
There is a certain Zen-like quality to Steve Clark‘s creations. Toying around with watered down inks and allowing the runny pigments in suspension to interact with other elements on the page such as singed areas; Clark fabricates visuals that look elementary, but possess a complexity and aesthetic that is ethereal and casually magical .
Ultra-chromatic & otherworldly, Kate Shaw‘s works are like visions from wildly beautiful hallucinations. Shaw’s statement regarding the conceptual intent of her work is also quite radical – (and I quote from her site) : “I am concurrently exploring the sublime in nature whilst imbuing a sense of toxicity and artificiality in this depiction. The intention is to reflect upon the contradiction between our inherent connection to the natural world and continual distancing from it” Creating her own specialized technique of […]
Right up there with some of the very best collage work, and with plenty of Dada spirit to go around, Ben Stainton has a pretty impressive collection of his juxtaposed cuttings amassing. Below you’ll find some of my personal favorites, but be sure to go check out his site (by clicking on his name/link above) to see more and larger scale versions. CLEVER COLLAGE CRAFTING

For this 400th posting, we’ll be serving up just a whole lot of miscellanea with the vague theme of the Homo-sapiens incredible capacity to do rad shid. SO, like any good party, lets get some tunes rockin’ and pop some mind altering drugs (drugs […]
