Jackie Chan Form: Snake in The Eagle’s Shadow
This past weekend we watched “Snake in the Eagle’s Shadow”- Jackie Chan’s breakthrough movie from 1978. Executing an outstanding ‘form’ (a sequence of strikes and positions of a given martial arts style) in the Snake-Fist technique, the intro to the film is a choreographic stunner. As sacrilegious as it might be, we decided to dub in our own music throughout the film and just read the subtitles. Synching the hits and battles with alternative beats was pretty awesome, so here […]

Experience LSD without dropping Acid + Humorous GIFS
Animated GIFs have such a simple beauty to them. Below are some of my favorites that I have recently found. The first GIF is one that – through staring @ the center point for 45 seconds – will alter your rods & cones temporarily to induce a visual effect similar to the influence of LSD (or so they say). PRAISE TECHNOLOGY!
Prompt for Meditating about Current Scale.
Compressing 4.5 hours of planes arriving / landing at San Diego International Airport (SAN) into 25 saturated seconds, Cy Kuckenbaker has created a short documentary-style montage that leaves viewers fazed. When taking into account that SAN doesn’t even make its way into the Top 30 Busiest Airports Internationally (and doesn’t even make the top half of The Top 50 Busiest United States Airports), one has to stretch their imagination to near impossible limits in order to contemplate the amount of air-traffic […]

Evil Subconcious Sideffects of Dubstep.
I like your style – not letting signs scare you off- you’d do well in mine country. This is the first post where the content edges the line between offensive and humorous (for our sheltered and weak-stomached viewers [are there any?]). The following video is of Comedy Central’s sketch comedy series: Key & Peele. In this sketch Key & Peele satirize the “disorienting” nature of Dubstep in a very successful and universally understandable way. The clip is actually more towards […]

Inspiring Youth From Sierra Leone.
Above is a mixer and FM transmitter that Kelvin Doe (from Sierra Leone) built from scrap cardboard and discarded ‘broken’ electronics. Kelvin’s story (stumbled upon via Grist.com ) is made even more inspiring and amazing when taking his age into account – 15. Broadcasting a guerrilla radio show under the alias of DJ Focus, Kelvin strives to bring communication and debate of issues to his community – a true visionary. Too radical. Here’s hoping that this young man (and many […]
